so, i sit here trying to find something to ponder in order to stay awake. we are currently talking about parents who are willing to give their children the ultimatum that as long as they live under their parents roof they will follow those rules. I just think back to the time when i told Dad i needed more space, he walked my to the front door, opened it wide and, with an arm towards the front yard, "there is all the space you need son". the professor of this class thinks that saying something like this is damaging to an adolescent... nice to know us brest kids are damaged goods. of course we already knew that Ben was mildly retarded. apparently that is catching, if you have ever talked to Jeremy.

i saw on the news the other day that people had actually found the reason for obesity! apparently it is part of the common cold and almost anyone can catch it. seriously! this was actually on the news, and people say i am wierd because tickle me elmo freaks me out. the thing oves if you don't play with it for 15 minutes... creepy.

Below is a news cast written by a gentlemen named Gordon Sinclair, it is about the... you jsut figure it out on your own.

"This Canadian thinks it is time to speak up for the Americans as the most generous and possibly the least appreciated people on all the earth. Germany, Japan and, to a lesser extent, Britain and Italy were lifted out of the debris of war by the Americans who poured in billions of dollars and forgave other billions in debts. None of these countries is today paying even the interest on its remaining debts to the United States. When the franc was in danger of collapsing in 1956, it was the Americans who propped it up, and their reward was to be insulted and swindled on the streets of Paris. I was there. I saw it.
"When earthquakes hit distant cities, it is the United States that hurries in to help. This spring, 59 American communities were flattened by tornadoes. Nobody helped. The Marshall Plan and the Truman Policy pumped billions of dollars into discouraged countries. Now newspapers in those countries are writing about the decadent, war-mongering Americans.
"I'd like to see just one of those countries that is gloating over the erosion of the United States dollar build its own airplane. Does any other country in the world have a plane to equal the Boeing Jumbo Jet, the Lockheed Tri-Star, or the Douglas DC-10? If so, why don't they fly them? Why do all the International Airlines except Russia fly American planes? Why does no other land on earth even consider putting a man or woman on the moon?
"You talk about Japanese technocracy, and you get radios. You talk about German technocracy, and you get automobiles. You talk about American technocracy, and you find men on the moon — not once, but several times — and safely home again.
"You talk about scandals, and the Americans put theirs right in the store window for everybody to look at. Even their draft-dodgers are not pursued and hounded. They are here on our streets, and most of them, unless they are breaking Canadian laws, are getting American dollars from ma and pa at home to spend here.
"When the railways of France, Germany and India were breaking down through age, it was the American who rebuilt them. When the Pennsylvania Railroad and the New York Central went broke, nobody loaned them an old caboose. Both are still broke. I can name you 5000 times when the Americans raced to the help of other people in trouble. Can you name me even one time when someone else raced to the Americans in trouble? I don't think there was outside help even during the San Francisco earthquake.
"Our neighbors have faced it alone, and I'm one Canadian who is damned tired of hearing them get kicked around. They will come out of this thing with their flag high. And when they do, they are entitled to thumb their nose at the lands that are gloating over their present troubles. I hope Canada is not one of those. Stand proud, Americans!"

Wow... not really sure what made me think of this broadcast, but it is an interesting story. Gordon Sinclair was cut off the air during the middle of this braodcast and was removed from his position for this. there is a lot of history to look up.

long time no...blog?

so, sorry i haven't blogged very consistently on this but i will attempt to do better now that the network is up and running at the school. yes, that means that you are going to hear all about the christian propaganda that i am being taught in my classes since i will be blogging in class. that being said, allow me to explain in depth the exegetical explanation to the doctrine of the trinity. just kidding, i don't even know what half of those words mean.

I was overjoyed to see that dad didn't literally get lost and stranded in China, although it would be kinda funny to see. I can picture it now, Mom gets an e-mail from dad saying "honey, i need you to call the U.S. Embassy in China and send them for me, i don't know where i am". that would be almost as funny as one of my siblings dis-locatating his hip when he was 14. Or maybe one of my brothers coming home from springbreak with half the eyebrows he left with. But i don't know anybody like this...

Ashley and I have 8 weeks left of School here at midwestern for the semester, and we can't wait for summer. I don't think that i am doing as good in classes as i should be, but for whatever reason i just cannot get myself to stay focused (thus i am blogging in class rather than paying attention).

funny

Ashley is now at a four and a half, almost a five! Caleb is hopefully going to be here by dinner so daddy doesn't get too hungry... totally joking. anyway, she got her epiderul and is now quite cozy and thinks it is funny to poke herself. i don't get it. she is starting to feel sick so i should go.

a 3!

she is finally fully ephased, and she is dialated to a 3 so we are going to get an epidural! this is good news for Corey's hand. The impending arrival should be fairly soon. she sends her love to all reading and hopes to see you all later today or tomorrow.
